Harry Callahan and Ray K. Metzker are among my favourite photographers. The main reason is their use of shadows and small sources of light in order to create a narrative made of negative spaces.
I found myself working in a similar way in order to portrait humanity as being lost or overwhelmed by the urban environment. Darkness is my medium to achieve this effect. Light is solely used to concentrate on details. A poetic sense of decay, oppression and solitude is what I am aiming for.
