Just North of the border with Turkey and an hour from the autonomous region of Abkhazia lies Batumi, a Black Sea coastal town and one of the main seaside resorts in Georgia.
Soviet era housing estates are surrounded by palms and over the top new developments in this subtropical climate. It’s the Georgian Riviera.
