Margate is a town located on the East coast of UK. Someone calls it a rundown seaside resort, someone says it’s being hipsterised, someone says it’s a UKIP stronghold or a white working class haven.
Things are changing fast: Now there is a new gallery on the beachfront attracting those white, 30something Londoners like me that read the Guardian. But the chippy shops on the beach front are still there as well as drunk-swimming people in front of the terribly pale British bathers.
Most of all, there is their amusement park currently being revamped after a long time of decay: Dreamland.
I went to Margate because I had a feeling I would find my photographic Land of Dreams. I am adding more scans from my films via my Instagram account.
